How To Have An Effective HIIT Workout

In terms of fitness, intensity can be defined by keeping rest to a minimum. In terms of HIIT, we take that definition and amplify it! After all, HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training.

When you perform a HIIT workout you need to be sure that you’re paying close attention to that intensity level. You need to be at the point where while performing the exercise you would tell yourself “I can’t do anymore” that is when you ignore that thought and focus on moving as hard as you can for the remainder of the time. The key is to never give up that intensity.

Losing The Intensity:

  • When you "take a breather" while you're supposed to be working...you've lost the intensity.
  • When you decide to move as slow as possible just to run out the clock...you've lost the intensity.
  • When you hesitate to start the next round as soon as it begins in order to do less work...you've lost the intensity.

How Do We Make The Most Out Of A HIIT Workout?

We simply work our hardest and with a constant pace for the duration of time prescribed, and do whatever you can to slow your heart rate when it comes time to rest.

Our Free Workout Generator found on our homepage has a whole section of workouts dedicated to HIIT. These workouts follow the Tabata style or 20 seconds of exercising and 10 seconds of rest. The average Tabata Style workout that we offer will take you about 17 minutes.

You need to maintain intensity for these workouts to be effective! Since they’re such short workouts, you need to go all out or you probably will not see any promising results.
