This is one of the greatest gym questions of all time. Perhaps, Monday has become the universal chest day because thinking back to when we all started out lifting we resorted to referencing bodybuilding magazines, forums, and even Youtube videos. These resources always had a workout program, and odds are it started with Monday being the chest workout. Why? Well, maybe because of the bench press. For some reason the bench press is the average guys favorite exercise, and what better way to get someone motivated to workout on Monday than starting the week with their favorite exercise? Mix this with a lack of creativity and these exercise resources have stuck with it and so have the majority of people who go to the gym. However, here’s a suggestion, do legs! If you follow our Facebook page you see that the daily workout we post for Monday is Leg Day. Fun fact, that’s because Sunday is our cheat day and Monday is when we have the most fuel to lift heavy for legs!
So, perhaps the moral of the story is - There’s no rhyme or reason. The one thing that we preach here on FITvocate is finding that one thing that motivates you to be active! If going to the gym will improve your efforts for a sport (like tennis, soccer, football, mountain climbing, etc.), or if you crave that drained feeling you get after going to the gym, or you just love changing things up every time you go to the gym. It doesn’t matter, all that matters is you stay active. Be sure to check out our workout generator, we have tons of workouts for whatever your goals are. We hope you do take advantage of this resource, because we at Fitvocate are advocates of your goals!
