5 Most Important Habits To A Healthy Lifestyle

Weight training aside, the best habit you could adapt for your health would have to be your diet.  Follow the below set of rules and you will be heading towards the direction of healthy living!

1.     Make Your Own Meals

Having control of the ingredients is the best practice for weight management.

2.    Don’t Use Prepared Foods

Prepared foods (Food that comes in a box/ Freezer section) are packed full of stuff that is counterproductive for weight management.

3.    Keep It Simple, And Make it exciting with Quality condiments

I have pretty basic meals every day (Eggs, oatmeal and kale) or (Fish, Quinoa, and Broccoli). A simple formula should follow A Good Protein source, a good quality grain, and a vegetable. Next, top your meal with a Quality Condiment (My favorites include: Mustard, Salsa, Sriracha, Olive Oil and Vinegar, Tabasco) *Avoid cream based condiments, or condiments high in sodium.* By doing this you essentially change the whole meal, and avoid getting sick of it!

4.    TRACK YOUR CALORIES

Individual Hormone Chemistry aside, calories consumed must be less than calories burned in order for weight loss to occur. Counting calories may seem mundane but if you are eating the same foods every day (LIKE I DO) then you only have to do it a couple times and then you get an idea of calories consumed; and weight management gets A LOT easier.

5.    DEDICATE ONE DAY PER WEEK AS A CHEAT DAY

When you eat clean all week you are allowed to treat yourself once per week and eat all of your comfort foods! It keeps you on track knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel! At first I suggest choosing a CHEAT MEAL, and as you progress in your weight management habits increase to a Cheat Day…you deserve it!!
