How Do I Know How Close I Am To Seeing A Six Pack?

We all strive for something when we go to the gym; be it weight loss, muscle gain or even more confidence; and then we have the people who just want to have abs.    Not that this is a bad thing; it shows you’re at an optimal body fat percentage, probably athletic, and are more likely not to wear a t-shirt in the pool….alright, I guess it’s safe to say we all want abs.  Well in that case, we’re here to show you how far you are along on your six pack journey.  Read on and see that there may be hope yet!

Weigh Yourself Daily

Get on the scale every day at the same time, preferably naked.  Doing this helps you understand your body, for instance you can see how your body responds to what you eat.  Also, we weigh ourselves daily because a good indicator of a lower body fat percentage is a decrease in body weight while maintaining strength and performance at the gym or whatever activity you are involved in.

Watch What You Put In Your Mouth

When you are aspiring towards six pack greatness, the most important part, of course, is disciplined weight management.  You need to be conscientious of what you are putting in your mouth… ALWAYS.  Getting a six pack requires strict discipline.  This means no junk food, soda, processed foods, or fast food.  Period. We’ll dedicate another article for the beloved CHEAT DAY, but for now, let’s stick with this mentality.

An Early Indicator

One indicator of being in the direction of visible abs, is seeing the “valley” that forms down the center of your abdomen from just below your chest down to your belly button.  This is the divider that splits the 3 segments in half and is the quickest part of the six pack to form.

A Good Rule Of Thumb

Having a six pack means you have a body fat percentage less than 12%. Now you may be asking yourself “How would I know if I have a body fat percentage of 12%?” An electronic body fat percentage analyzer is a great tool that monitors this for you.  I suggest using this right after you weigh yourself, and do this daily as well.

That’s it, follow along, pay attention to your body, and believe you can have abs!
